Delete your CigarMind account

Permanently delete your cloud account in the app. Export first; after success, separately clear any local facts you no longer want on your iPhone.

Simply uninstalling CigarMind does not delete the cloud account, and iOS may preserve Keychain items after uninstall. If you want a full exit, complete the steps below before uninstalling.

Permanently delete in the app

  1. Optional: export first
    Open Settings → Privacy & data → Export collection & journal, then save the versioned JSON, collection CSV, and tasting CSV files. Sync records cannot be recovered from CigarMind after deletion.
  2. Open the account page
    Go to the bottom Concierge tab → Account & cloud. If the session has expired, use Sign in with Apple again so the request is authenticated as the account owner.
  3. Request deletion
    Under Delete account, tap Permanently delete cloud account, read the irreversible-action notice, then tap Confirm permanent deletion.
  4. Wait for a definite result
    CigarMind first asks Apple to revoke authorization. Database records are deleted only after revocation succeeds or Apple explicitly confirms the credential is already invalid.
  5. Clear local facts if desired
    After “Cloud account and sync data deleted” appears, use Settings → Privacy & data → Clear all local facts to remove collection records still on this device.

This cannot be undone

Once successful, CigarMind cannot restore cloud collection data or sync history for that account. Export anything you want to keep first.

What is removed from the cloud

Deletion uses database cascades intended to remove the following from the active MySQL service:

  • the CigarMind user and server-HMAC representation of the Apple subject;
  • all current and historical CigarMind session hashes;
  • the encrypted Apple refresh credential held for revocation;
  • current synced collection, tasting-journal, and humidor records;
  • sync change logs, deletion tombstones, version cursors, and short-lived idempotency request records.

If a restricted disaster-recovery backup contains an earlier snapshot, that copy expires through the protected rotation schedule and is not restored to serve the deleted account. Support or security records required by law, dispute handling, or abuse prevention are isolated from the product account and kept only as necessary.

Handle local data separately

Cloud deletion does not automatically delete SQLite collection facts on the iPhone because local and cloud storage are separate boundaries. Clear all local facts permanently removes local cigars, lots, inventory events, tastings, humidors, readings, recognition history, and the app-managed recognition-photo copies in its private directory.

The action keeps language, units, thresholds, notification, and permission preferences. If you also want those reset, revoke permissions and notifications in the available settings before uninstalling. Do not treat uninstall as a substitute for cloud deletion.

If Apple revocation temporarily fails

To prevent a false “deleted” result while authorization remains active, CigarMind uses revoke first, delete second. If Apple's identity service times out, is unavailable, or does not confirm revocation:

  • the cloud account, sync records, and server credential remain;
  • the app clearly reports that Apple authorization could not be revoked and the account has not been deleted;
  • you can return to the same page and retry after connectivity recovers;
  • do not use uninstall status as evidence of deletion.

If you cannot access the app

From an email account associated with, and controlled by you in connection with Sign in with Apple, contact hoprabbit-support@souldigger.cn with “CigarMind Account Deletion” in the subject. We will provide secure verification and next steps.

You may include device model, app version, approximate last sign-in time, and the problem, but never send an Apple password, authorization code, CigarMind session token, full identity document, or private photo. To prevent fraudulent deletion, an unverified email alone may not be sufficient.

After deletion

Successful deletion signs the current device out of the cloud account. Signing in with Apple later creates a new account under the authorization state at that time; deleted sync data does not return. You can also review or stop CigarMind under Apple ID's “Apps Using Apple ID,” but stopping the Apple association alone does not delete the CigarMind database account—complete in-app deletion or contact support as well.
